We are thrilled to host a conversation with Almudena Romero, Daniel the Gardener, and Jo Grogan, three talented artists from the Sarabande Foundation's residency program on 3 July 2024. The event explored the significant role plants play in their artistic practices.

Almudena Romero, a visual artist, shared how her work with photography reflects our relationship with nature and recognizes the agency of plants amidst the ongoing climate crisis.

Daniel the Gardener, a botanical artist, discussed how he draws inspiration from his encounters with nature, creating designs that go beyond scientific accuracy.

Jo Grogan, a multi-disciplinary artist, explained how her background in wood carving, sculpting, and gilding merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary interpretations, celebrating nature through her art.

The evening began with welcome drinks, followed by insightful presentations and discussions from the artists, offering guests a unique opportunity to understand how plants serve as active participants in their work.

The event wrapped up with lively conversations, leaving everyone inspired by the creative possibilities plants offer in artistic expression. This event was a beautiful reminder of how art and nature intertwine, and we look forward to continuing such enriching dialogues at Ensō London.
